Strategic Partnerships

As we strive for an equitable and sustainable society, under the korowai of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Rātā enters strategic partnerships across our takiwā to create a more equitable and sustainable society.

Our focus for our strategic partnerships is on areas that have a significant impact on equity and sustainability.  Based on research into what makes the biggest difference in our community Rātā has set four strategic funding priorities – Housing, Health, Education and the Environment.  Data shows this is where we, as a large community investor, can have the biggest impact for those that need the most support.

To create social change, the projects we support and partner with need to have the following qualities:

• the potential to be significant in scale and impact
• address a need in the community and the removal of any barriers
• be well supported by research
• include good management and governance
• provide excellent community leadership
• have measurable outcomes at various stages of the project
