Volunteering Canterbury - Volunteering Expo

We are once again partnering with Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury (UC) to facilitate a Volunteering Expo at its Ilam Campus.

Tables and tablecloths will be provided; please bring a pull-up banner if you have one, information on volunteer roles, and a friendly welcome! Applications are now open – apply for your space today. 

The Expo helps make volunteering opportunities more visible to UC students and staff, including those looking to connect with the local community and gain experience outside the classroom.

Bookings for sites will close on Friday 10 July, unless full prior. This gives the amazing UC Comms team time to let students and staff know about the Expo and the organisations that will be represented.

The Expo attracts 400+ students and also a number of staff based at the Ilam campus site who are looking for ways to give back to their communities.

Details for the day will come through at a later date, but for diary purposes, please allow time either side of the expo itself for set-up and pack-down. 

When you apply, please tell us:

(a) if you were at the Expo in 2025; and, if so,

(b) how many UC students/staff volunteered or were interested in volunteering with your organisation.

This will help us assess and demonstrate impact of the event outside of the day itself.
