SPACPAC Polyfest Canterbury 2026
Proud to support SPACPAC Polyfest Canterbury
We were excited to attend and host a stall at this year’s SPACPAC Polyfest Canterbury Festival – celebrating 25 years of Pacific culture, language and identity at the largest Canterbury Polyfest yet.
This year the festival ran across two days, 13 and 14 March, bringing together more than 20 schools and over 1,500 student performers to produce an incredible line-up of entertainment. Each school had eight weeks to prepare a 15-minute slot to share their Pasifika culture, language and identity through song and dance, celebrating the many Pasifika communities who call Aotearoa New Zealand home.
Rātā Foundation has been proud to support SPACPAC Polyfest since 2017 through our Connect funding programme. For us, it’s a real highlight on the calendar – a chance to show up, kōrero with people, and soak up the energy of our vibrant Pacific and wider multicultural communities.
Over the weekend, we met so many people who stopped by to find out who we are and what we do. It was also lovely to see many familiar faces popping in to say hello and reconnect. As Community Engagement Advisors and Grants Advisors, we feel privileged to do this mahi – especially alongside our Pasifika groups and the diverse multicultural communities we spent the weekend with.
