My role at Rātā Foundation is Community Engagement Advisor. I work closely with people doing incredible work in the community, using our funding priorities and criteria as a vehicle to support this mahi. Through collaboration, strategic planning and partnerships and the opportunity to take a step back and look at the bigger picture, we get to use our collective resources for greater impact.
Hevoi. Makadii. Salibonani.
Hailing from the sunny nation of Zimbabwe, Vimbayi made New Zealand her second home nearly 20 years ago. She adores her family – she has a husband and two beautiful children, a son and a daughter, who keep her endlessly entertained and challenged. Spending quality time with loved ones, here and abroad, fills her cup – as does trying to get fit again, singing to her Creator, cooking and eating delicious food, and watching movies or shows with her family. Vimbayi is a burgeoning purveyor of African art and enjoys sharing African art and culture with fellow Kiwis.
Vimbayi loves being a part of the Rātā whānau, as her role enables her to support positive social change and help communities to realise their aspirations. She is inspired daily by the incredible people working hard, and usually sacrificially, in our communities to make them better, stronger, more connected, and more alive.
