Deputy Chair

Philippa Burns

Philippa has lived and worked in the Marlborough community since the mid 1990’s. In that time the region has seen tremendous growth and the opportunities to participate in the community have been plentiful. She has been actively involved in a range of health, social, sporting and arts organisations in both paid and voluntary capacities.

What motivated you to be involved with the Rātā Foundation board?

Rātā Foundation (and formerly, the Canterbury Community Trust) has made considerable investment over the years in Marlborough.  I am an advocate for my community and am interested in supporting meaningful development in all corners of this diverse and growing region.

What are you most passionate about in supporting the community?

I am enthusiastic about organisations and projects which bring our people together and make a real impact on the greater community with development across all cultural sectors.

What, to you, is one of Rātā Foundation’s greatest achievements and or projects?

Rātā Foundation is accomplished in remaining relevant to and staying in touch with our communities while maintaining a healthy investment portfolio, enabling it to support community initiatives which will enhance our societies well into the future.
