Avebury House reaches out to community

Every day, Avebury House opens its doors to members of the community.

The Victorian-style homestead is used as a hub for local community groups and classes.

Avebury House treasurer Hayley Guglietta said the house was a valuable asset in Richmond.

“Funding has enabled us to set up a Menz Shed… We want to be able to be involved with our neighbourhood, and things like the Menz Shed enable us to do that,” she said.

Avebury House had also hosted a number of community events.

“Most recently we had our Matariki event which attracted over 500 people, and we almost fed 500 people on the day,” she said.

“Without funding, we wouldn’t be able to put on such great events.”
